New Event Spotlight: TechConnect!

Three teenagers sit at a table with a laptop and several sheets of paper in front of them, actively discussing something, while an adult man leans over their shoulders to see what they are working on.

Looking for tech help? Start at the Library!

The Library is excited to announce a new program this summer: TechConnect! If you're looking to learn more about cybersecurity, how the internet and apps work, or just looking for a little tutoring on your personal device, the savvy teens of TechConnect are standing by!

TechConnect is a volunteer program, run by local high school students, that aims to bridge the gap between generations as well as sharing important information about how to safely and effectively use computers, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices. Stop by any Wednesday at 3:00 PM to meet up with them in a fun, informal environment, where you can ask your tech questions and get some on-the-spot answers, or learn about their favorite subject - cybersecurity and how to keep yourself and your devices safe while you surf the web.

Patrons who attend the program should bring their own smartphones, tablets, laptops, or similar devices if they would like direct help with them. If you don't have any questions today, that's all right, too - come on in and let the TechConnect crew know you're here to learn about technology, and they'll take it from there!

The TechConnect program is held in the Tutoring Area (to your left past the Young Adult section when entering the Library) every Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Come on in and join us!
