Registering for Events at Your NMB Library
You may have noticed that some events on the Library's website and calendar say that you must register online. If you've ever wondered how to do that, don't worry - it's quick and easy, and we'll walk you through it!
To see all the events you might be able to register for, visit our website at nmblib.com and click on Programs and Events, then on Events Calendar:
Once you do, you'll see this screen, which shows all events currently posted to the Library website:
There are plenty of neat tools you can use here!:
- Click on any day to show all the events for that single day; you can click on any one of them to see what time the events are, read their description, and find their registration link.
- Use the arrows (< and >) at the top of the calendar to switch between months.
- Use the Search Box (where it says Search for events) on the top left to look for the name of an event (for example, Zumba). When you do, all events that don't have that word in it will disappear.
- Click on the Age Group button if you only want to see events for certain ages (for example, Children Ages 6-12). When you do, all other events that aren't for that group will disappear.
- Click on the Event Type button if you only want to see certain kinds of events (for example, Arts & Crafts Events). When you do, all other events will disappear.
If you clicked on any of the above to make events disappear, either delete your search from the Search Box or click on Age Group or Event Type again and choose View All... to return to seeing everything.
Pretty simple! But what about registering for an event? To register, you'll need to go to that exact event's listing. Use the Search Box or navigate to the date for the event and click on the link for it to see the specific page for that event:
As you can see, there's a big blue Register button on the left! That's where you'll go to sign up to join the program or class. (If you see a note that instead says Registration now closed, that means that the event is already full and we can't sign anyone else up for this one. Reach out to the Library to see if there will be another one soon!)
Once you've clicked on Register, you'll enter your Library Card number (the one on the back of your card above the barcode, with no spaces):
If you put in a card number that doesn't exist, you'll get an error that says Sorry, pin or card number not found - it's okay if you made a typo! Just give it another try with the correct number. If your card is expired, you will get the same error - just come into the Library and show your ID to update it.
And that's it! Once you've clicked Login, you should see a confirmation that you're registered for the event! Keep in mind that if you want to register multiple people (for example, you're bringing three children to the event), you'll need to make sure you register each one of them - otherwise we will assume you're only bringing one person, and other patrons may register for the other slots!
